Scott, glad you guys enjoyed the LBL race. I definitely remember talking to you for a second at the substation about your route choice there. I see that you guys finished 5th out of 34 overall in 12 hr race. Pretty salty man! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteI checked out your map and your route choice was 'spot-on.' Pretty much the optimal and ideal route that we had intended. The bike whack at the substation was a small route choice I designed to encourage some teams to park the bikes, jump into the woods, run back to the bikes and continue on the roads the long way around, OR do the bikewhack that you guys chose. I wish I knew what percentage chose each route, but I don't. I only know of one other team that I saw at that point and they bike-whacked as well. We figured the bikewhack was the wiser choice.
Nice race once again. Since you guys are from Rolla, you should do the Ozark Greenways race on May 16. Maybe I will see you there.

Nice route! Wish we had seen this before we planned ours, we weren't quite as successful. We chose the bikewhack as well, easy choice for us, although we saw a bunch of others blast down the short section of The Trace which was off limits.
